What is Right to Information?

Right to Information aims to make more information available to the community.

The Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (RTI Act) and Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act) apply to Queensland Rail. As such, we do our very best to engage and collaborate with the right people to deliver more timely and better quality information to our customers, employees, business partners and the public.

We make information available

At Queensland Rail we take all reasonable steps to make as much information as possible available so that you don’t have to make a formal application unless you have to. Before applying for information, you should check first to see if it is available online. You can search our website for routinely released information, organised into categories in our Publication Scheme.

If you cannot find what you are looking for, complete an online customer enquiry form requesting whether or not the information you are looking for is available administratively by the appropriate Queensland Rail business group.

Apply for information

If you have been unable to obtain access to information through Queensland Rail administrative arrangements, you may wish to make an application under the RTI or IP Acts.

Amend personal information

Under the IP Act you may apply for an amendment to be made to a document that contains your personal information which you believe is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or misleading.

You can submit an application on the Information Privacy Personal Information Amendment Application form.

Your completed application should be sent to:
