environmentally responsible manner in support of a resilient rail network that delivers value and benefit for our
customers, our people, the community and the environment.
What we will do
To deliver on this commitment, Queensland Rail will:
integrate environmental, social and economic considerations into its policies, processes, risk management and decision making at all levels of the organisation
comply with applicable environmental legal and other obligations
develop and maintain environmental and sustainability management systems, standards and processes
manage impacts to the environment, through prevention of pollution and proactive management of environment and heritage values
embed climate change risk management to progressively improve the resilience of assets, infrastructure, and services
decarbonise operations in support of progress towards becoming a net zero emissions railway
investigate and, where feasible, adopt new and improved technologies and products that support sustainability outcomes including a circular economy
monitor and report on environmental and sustainability performance in order to drive continual improvement
foster a workforce culture around sustainability through training, awareness and engagement; and
- engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, customers, delivery partners and industry on sustainability matters.
