Queensland Rail is upgrading Lindum station to improve accessibility and make it easier and safer for customers.
These works are part of Queensland Rail's Station Accessibility Upgrade Program which focuses on upgrading station infrastructure to provide easier access to the public transport system.
Station accessibility upgrades are achieved through the delivery of accessible station entrances and pathways to the assisted boarding points, platform raising works, upgraded accessible parking, and by providing essential station and customer facilities including accessible toilets.
These upgrades will significantly improve access for all customers, particularly people with disability, older people, people travelling with prams or luggage, and people recovering from injury.
The accessibility upgrade will feature a range of improvements, including:
- a new pedestrian footbridge with lift access
- full-length raised platforms and extended platform shelters
- upgraded hearing loops and tactile platform surfaces
- upgraded security cameras and lighting throughout the station
- new wayfinding and platform signage.
It is one of several improvements to the Lindum station precinct at Wynnum West.
The Australian and Queensland governments, together with Brisbane City Council, are working to prioritise critical level crossing, station and park 'n' ride upgrades.

Lindum Station Precinct Study
Queensland Rail's accessibility upgrade is an important part of improvements planned for the Lindum station precinct at Wynnum West.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) recently completed its Lindum Station Precinct Study, with community consultation helping project teams to better understand current and future challenges, and transport opportunities in the area.
As part of this study, DTMR is currently investigating options to upgrade the Lindum station park 'n' ride. Work to improve the Lindum station precinct is now progressing as a result of the study, with planning for immediate safety improvements, short-term upgrades and longer-term solutions underway.
Queensland Rail continues to work closely with Brisbane City Council and all levels of government to plan and deliver these works.
